Your policy comparison guide
A useful burial insurance comparison starts with the same assumptions. This guide helps you organize real quotes and understand their differences before choosing a policy.
Start with like-for-like quotes
Use the same proposed insured, state, coverage amount and premium payment frequency. A lower monthly amount may reflect a different benefit, different payment duration or different type of insurance. Ask each agent what assumptions the quote uses.
Separate term insurance from permanent coverage
Term insurance covers a stated period. Permanent life insurance is designed to continue longer when policy requirements are met. Do not compare the price alone: ask about duration, renewal costs and what happens if the insured lives beyond a term.
Check the full payment commitment
Record the quoted premium, payment frequency and how long payments are due. Ask whether premiums are guaranteed to stay level, whether the benefit can change and what happens after a missed payment. The policy terms control.
Compare benefit timing as carefully as price
Ask when coverage starts, whether an initial period limits benefits for certain causes of death, and what the beneficiary would receive during that period. A quick application or policy issue does not necessarily mean an immediate full death benefit.
Know who and what you are comparing
Ask for the legal insurer name, exact product and policy form. Ask Aurora which insurers and products it can actually offer in your state. This website does not rank every insurer or represent a comparison of the entire market.
Make the final comparison using the actual documents
Use the application, policy illustration where applicable and issued policy to confirm the details. A general explanation is not a binding offer. Review existing coverage before adding or replacing it, and ask about any applicable policy review or cancellation period.
Bring the guide to your next conversation.
Ask an Aurora Insurance Partners agent about the terms and options that may apply to your situation.
